Fire is a critical issue whether you live SteamBoat Springs, Nederland, Breckinridge, or Crested Butte. We design landscapes that look and feel good while meeting the most important functions. Most counties demand fabric and rocks around the structures foundation. We have found that overtime very flammable weeds (Cheatgrass) dominate these landscape installations creating an eye sore that could set your Colorado mountain home on fire. We plant succulents in these rocks out competing the weeds, requiring very little water, that can actually extinguish smoldering embers. Puppies also find this fire safe landscapes very relaxing!
